A Magical Disney Wedding Horse and Carriage for Joe & Lauren’s Big Day

Oh, friends, do I have a wedding to share with you! Lauren and Joe’s spring wedding was nothing short of magical (Disney magical to be more specific!), and I had the absolute honor of capturing every precious moment. From their love of Clemson to a Disney-worthy entrance with a wedding horse and carriage, this day was as personal and unique as it gets.

Lauren and Joe are die-hard Clemson fans, so it only made sense for their big day to center around the place they love so much. They got ready at a stunning hotel owned by Clemson (Peep those orange curtains! And yes, every detail of this wedding was meaningful!) before saying their vows at the breathtaking Samuel J. Cadden Chapel right on campus. The chapel’s serene atmosphere and gorgeous design provided the perfect setting for such a heartfelt ceremony. As a photographer, I could NOT get over how gorgeous the ceremony spot was with all of that natural window light!

The reception was held at Cross Creek Country Club, and it was every bit as elegant and lively as you’d imagine. But let’s rewind to one of the most unforgettable parts of the day: Lauren and Joe’s grand entrance to the reception during cocktail hour. They arrived in a fairytale-worthy Cinderella wedding horse and carriage provided by Carolina Horse and Carriage. The horse, a beautiful grey Percheron named Samson (we chatted about Samson endlessly – can you tell I’m a horse girl?), was the perfect match for Lauren’s Disney princess vibes. As a big Disney fan, this was a dream come true for her—and honestly, it felt like we all stepped into a real-life storybook.

Lauren was thrilled to have a variety of photos with Samson and the carriage, and I was just as excited to deliver! We captured everything from her stunning dress sweeping across the carriage steps to intimate shots of her and Joe looking like royalty. Samson stole the show, and I loved weaving his charm into the images to bring out the fairytale feel.

As amazing as their grand entrance to their reception was, the rest of their wedding was just as amazing! All of the details that you see at the reception tent were meticulously made by Lauren for the wedding. I was blown away when she told me that! I seriously admire her patience and crafting skills because everything turned out absolutely beautiful! Her creative details were some of my absolute favorites that I’ve photographed this year!

For those dreaming of their own storybook wedding, I can’t recommend including a wedding horse and carriage enough! It added such a unique and enchanting touch to Lauren and Joe’s day, and I’m still swooning over the results.
