Why The Grande Victorian is a Dream Venue for Couples
If you are looking for The Grande Victorian wedding photographer Monroe NC, you are probably already considering this incredible property for your wedding day. Every time I photograph there I am reminded why it is the perfect wedding venue for couples that want aA Historic Setting for an Elegant Celebration
Allison and Fraizer’s Monroe NC wedding at The Grande Victorian was full of timeless moments, and this venue gave us so many beautiful places to capture them.
The Grande Victorian is an 1884 Queen Anne style estate sitting on six acres just outside historic downtown Monroe. The home has been lovingly restored, and every room is decorated with so much care (one of my favorites is the room filled with antique teacups). Everywhere you turn there’s another picture perfect backdrop, which makes it such a fun place to photograph.

Getting Ready in Style
The morning started in the bridal suite, which is one of the largest in the Carolinas. It’s bright and spacious, with white tiles and a full length mirror that photographs beautifully. It’s the perfect spot for those sweet getting ready moments with your mom and bridesmaids.
Across the property, the groom’s suite is huge and so much fun. Fraizer and the guys had plenty of room to hang out, play pool, and relax before the ceremony, which meant lots of easy, candid laughs for me to capture.

A Ballroom Made for Dancing
For any Monroe NC wedding, having an indoor option is a huge plus. Carolina summers can bring pop up rainstorms and serious heat, and The Grande Victorian gives you a covered outdoor pavilion plus a 5,000 square foot formal ballroom so you’re covered either way.
I am completely in love with the ballroom’s black and white checkered floors. They add such an elegant touch, and they look incredible in photos. Allison and Fraizer made a grand entrance while their guests twirled napkins in the air, and the energy stayed high all night long. Between the father daughter dance and a packed dance floor, there were so many joyful moments to capture.
Golden Hour and Twinkle Lights
As the sun went down, we slipped away for portraits around the grounds. The gardens glow at golden hour, and the gazebo wrapped in twinkle lights is one of my favorite spots for evening portraits. It’s the kind of romantic backdrop that makes a Monroe NC wedding feel like something out of a storybook.
A Sparkler Send Off
To end the night, Allison and Fraizer walked through a sparkler exit right in front of the historic estate. The glow of the sparklers against the Victorian architecture was the perfect finale to a beautiful day.
Final Thoughts
This Monroe NC wedding was such a joy to be part of. The Grande Victorian has so much charm and variety, and every time I’m there I find new spots for portraits and new ways to capture real, candid moments.
