Wondering where to go for your Charlotte, NC engagement photos? Look no further! Charlotte and the area surrounding have tons of beautiful locations to use for session! Here are a few of my favorite (free!) spots for getting some amazing portraits of you and your partner's engagement and new chapter in your life!
Do you want to be by the water for your session but not too far from the city? Jetton Park is the perfect spot for you! Located in the Lake Norman area, this park has so many beautiful spots for images. The evergreen tree line softens the bright day sun and creates some magical glow. Sunset images by the water give you a beach feel, all the while staying close to the Queen City.
This is one of my favorite spots. Still relatively new, Steven's Creek Nature Preserve is a beautiful area with over three miles of looped trails. The golden grass and line of evergreen trees make it a prime spot for winter sessions and the wide variety of different species of trees make it an excellent spot for those colorful fall shots!
Looking for some flowers in your spring or summer engagement sessions? Charlotte and the surrounding area is home to many different flower fields that have flowers blooming all throughout the spring and summer months. Draper Wildlife Management Area, although technically in SC, is a perfect spot, with flowers blooming in rows as far as the eye can see.
If you and your significant other are looking for some artsy and creative images for your engagement session, look no further than Camp North End! This super cool spot that used to be old factories, has been renovated to include shops, restaurants, cool hangout spots. Full of art, sculptures, airstreams, bars, and old railroad tracks, this place is perfect for that urban vibe.
Love flowers? Me too! Glencairn Gardens is a lovely little garden right outside of Charlotte in the Rock Hill, SC area. A sweet, quiet, and beautiful gem right outside the hustle and bustle of Charlotte makes Glencairn Garden is the perfect shot for some romantic engagement shots.
I love this park! The large pond and ample green space make it a prime place for engagement photos! I personally love the weeping will tree and the bridge across the pond. Sunset sessions at Freedom Park with the golden light hitting the willow tree set it ablaze and it's a gorgeous spot for some really magical images.
Less known than other parks on this list, Renaissance Park is also a great spot. The beautiful open field surrounded by trees and native grasses make it a sweet spot for some images with a nature backdrop! The disc golf course also has a few nice, wooded areas that can add a little diversity to your engagement images.
There are so many hidden gem photo spots in South End. From the super popular heart wall to the endless urban outdoor places, this area has so much to offer for the couples that want some urban and trendy images during their session.
I couldn't leave this gigantic park off my list! McAlpine Creek Park is a 114 acre park with a fishing pier, hiking trails, dog park and much more. There are so many pretty sports nestled within this park! Perfect for the nature-loving couple!
Charlotte has a ton of beautiful locations to offer for your engagement session, but drive just a little ways out of the city and you'll find some truly spectacular places!
