Peach Blossoms – The Best Part of Spring in Charlotte, NC

Model Riya poses in a peach orchard in Charlotte NC

Spring is *kinda* almost here! ….Okay, it’s still January, but with the crazy weather here in the Queen City, it feels like spring is just around the corner! As a wedding and family photographer in Charlotte, I get super excited for the change in the weather. It marks the end of my slow season and I get so excited to start working weddings and offering portrait sessions again for the new year!

My favorite part of spring here in Charlotte, NC are all the beautiful blooms that pop up near the end of February to mid March, specifically, the peach blossoms! These blossoms come from peach trees, which are native to China. Believed to ward off evil spirits and increase vitality in a person, these beautiful pale pink flowers bloom for about two weeks in early spring. The exact bloom time varies with the weather each year and scheduling a session while they are in full bloom can be tricky. Trust me though, these blossoms are worth any trouble; they make for a beautiful backdrop and add magic to any image!

There are a few areas in and around the Charlotte area that have rows and rows of these gorgeous flowering trees. These images below are from sessions at a farm just north of the Charlotte area called Lineberger’s Maple Springs Farm.
