Sam’s Fall Maternity Session

Expecting mother Sam and husband Travis swing their young son Ryan by the arms as they laugh and smile

What a gorgeous session this was! As a family photographer in Charlotte NC, I am familiar with awesome spaces around the area that make for magical backdrops for sessions.

Sam and her husband Travis were expecting their newest addition to the family and wanted to commemorate this special time with a photoshoot. Their son Ryan, excited to be a big brother soon, had a blast posing with his parents for some seriously sweet images. We decided on one of my favorite fall and winter photo spots, Steven’s Creek Nature Preserve. Nestled off the beaten path in Mint Hill, NC, this hidden gem has some great spots for stunning fall images. Complete with bridges, tall golden grass, and beautiful tall trees, this park made a fantastic backdrop to capture this family’s excitement for the new chapter in their lives!

The cloudy day didn’t stop us from getting some stunning images! We started in the golden grass right at the front of the park and then moved further through for some beautiful images by the bridges (complete with a fall leaf toss!) We finished up our time at the park with some fall foliage shots on the wooded trails.

I had such a lovely time with this sweet family! Both Sam and Travis were a beautiful couple and Ryan was the absolute sweetest. I live for these family and maternity sessions! What a great way to wrap up fall in the Carolinas!
