Wedding Portraits at Magnolia Plantation & Gardens

I am SO in love with Paige and Kyle’s wedding portraits! As a Charlotte NC Wedding Photographer, even though I love Charlotte, I also LOVE traveling and getting to explore outside of the Charlotte area! This trip to the Charleston area was

Magnolia Plantation and Gardens was the perfect backdrop to capture this sweet couple. Paige and Kyle moved to Charlotte, NC from Cleveland, OH a few years ago. Paige, being a beach lover herself, was more than happy to skip the long winters for short drives to sandy beaches that both North Carolina and South Carolina offer! Charleston holds a special place for both of them because this is the city where they got engaged years ago.

Magnolia Plantation and Gardens proved to be a spectacularly beautiful spot for their wedding portraits! This garden is a historic plantation that boasts stunning gardens and natural scenery. Spanning over 60 acres, the gardens feature a wide variety of plants, flowers, and trees that are in bloom year-round. From the Oak Alley and the Long White Bridge to the Azalea Hill, Magnolia Plantation and Gardens provides a variety of beautiful and unique backdrops, and we made use of so many of them!

It is almost impossible not to include every image of Paige and Kyle on the Long White Bridge. One of the most photographed areas of the garden, this bridge is absolutely stunning! The last of the wisteria and the Spanish Moss dripping from the trees behind them makes these images so stunning!

The oak trees at Magnolia Plantation and Gardens were amazing! They are estimated to be over 300 years old and were planted during the 17th and 18th centuries, long before the plantation was opened to the public.

The trees also have an unusual appearance due to the presence of Spanish moss. This grayish-green plant is not actually a moss but a type of bromeliad (yay succulents!) that grows on the branches of trees. The Spanish Moss gracefully draped across the trees adds to the beauty of the old oak trees here and to these gorgeous images for Paige and Kyle.

I am so thankful to Paige and Kyle for letting me capture their love in their wedding portraits!
