A Fall Engagement Session in NC

Newly engaged couple Cheyenne and Ben snuggle up close together on a rock on the bank of small pool. A beautiful two-tiered waterfall flows in the background behind them.

This is one of those sessions that I’ll remember for a long time. I’m a outdoor enthusiast at heart – there’s nothing more fun for me than to photograph couples in a gorgeous nature setting (especially if it includes a waterfall)! When Cheyenne reach out to be and told me she wanted her engagement photos to be taken at McGalliard Falls Park, I was so excited! Even though I’m a Charlotte Wedding Photographer, I LOVE to travel and will take any excuse I can get to ignore the advice of TLC and go chasing waterfalls!

Cheyenne and Ben showed up to their session ready to go! Both of their outfits were perfect for an outdoor session in the fall leaves. Cheyenne swapped out her cream sweater dress and into a more casual outfit halfway through the session and her top matched her dress PERFECTLY. I sincerely wish I was that coordinated with my own wardrobe!

McGalliard Falls Park was full of awesome spots for photos. The waterfall at the bottom of the hill was (of course) my favorite spot for some romantic and adventurous portraits, but there were other features that made this park an awesome location. The historic Meytre Grist Mill right next to the falls combined with the tall, golden grass added some rustic vibes to their cozy session. Even though the colorful fall leaves were on their way out for the year, we found a beautiful, orange tree right by the entrance to add some color to their images!

Not only was I in love with their gallery, but I loved getting to know Ben and Cheyenne. I truly had so much fun with them and I cannot wait for their wedding next year! Please enjoy these favorites from their engagement session!
