Isa and Matt’s Elegant Palisades Country Club Wedding

Isa moved to the United States a little over three years ago. She met Matt online, and from their very first conversation, they were inseparable. So when her mom and grandma boarded a flight from Brazil to watch her get married, it was not just a trip. It was a full circle moment, and one I got to witness as their Palisades Country Club wedding photographer.

Isa and Matt got married on a hot but beautiful day at Palisades Country Club in Charlotte, NC, and their wedding was full of the kind of joy that makes this job so special. Here is a look inside their day.

Getting Ready

The morning started at Matt’s sister’s house, where Isa got ready surrounded by her bridesmaids. They popped champagne together, and that energy in the room set the tone for the whole day! Excited, happy, and completely unbothered by the heat waiting outside.

We took traditional getting ready photos once we arrived at Palisades Country Club itself (since it’s SO pretty!). Matt’s sister’s house was sweet, but Palisades gave us so much more to work with. Natural light, beautiful architecture, and space for the whole bridal party to spread out. As a Palisades Country Club wedding photographer, I always love when a couple gets ready on site, because the venue’s own details end up woven into the earliest photos of the day.

Before the ceremony, Isa and Matt shared a first touch moment, and it was every bit as emotional as you would hope. Both of them were in tears, hands holding each other’s on other sides of the columns, feeling the weight of everything that led them to this day. Isa’s journey from Brazil, the years apart from her mom and grandma, and now this. It was a quiet and beautiful, but one of my favorites from the entire wedding.

The Ceremony

Palisades Country Club is known for its outdoor ceremony space overlooking the rolling greens of the golf course, and it did not disappoint! Isa and Matt exchanged vows outside, surrounded by the lush greenery this Charlotte NC wedding venue is known for. Her mom and grandma sat in the front row, having flown thousands of miles for this exact moment, and there was not a dry eye in the crowd.

In another champagne moment, Matt and Isa popped another bottle with their wedding party all together for one super fun wedding memory! It was so lovely to watch all of Matt and Isa’s best friends laugh, joke around, and have fun together. They were such a fun group and they really made their big day truly special.

The Reception

After the ceremony, everyone moved indoors for the reception, and it was the perfect contrast to the outdoor ceremony space. Elegant, romantic, and full of life once the toasts began.

Speeches were heartfelt and genuinely funny, the kind that has the whole room laughing one minute and wiping tears the next.You could feel how much love was in that room for both of them.

One of my favorite parts of photographing at Palisades Country Club is the grand staircase, and golden hour made it even better! Isa and Matt walked down together as the light turned soft and warm, and the resulting photos are some of my favorites from their entire wedding. The light was just perfect!

We also snuck away to the golf course for a few minutes (no golfers were bothered in the making of these photos!), where Isa and Matt ran hand in hand across the open green. Genuinely one of the most fun, candid portrait sessions I have gotten to shoot all year. Even in the heat, they were laughing the entire time.

By the time the dancing started, the whole room was ready to celebrate. The dance floor stayed full and alive well into the night, which is always my favorite sign of a great wedding.

A Charlotte NC Wedding to Remember

Isa and Matt’s wedding was a beautiful reminder of how far love can travel, literally. From a mom and grandma crossing an ocean, to two people who met online and never looked back, this day had every bit of the joy and emotion I hope for as a photographer.
