A Rock Hill Engagement Session in the Garden

Zaida and Julio snuggle in close and look into each other's eyes. Both are nestled in a bush that contains a sea of purple flowers.

Engagement sessions are a celebration of love and commitment, where the essence of a couple’s journey is immortalized through the lens of a camera. As a Charlotte wedding and portrait photographer, I had the privilege of documenting the beautiful engagement session of Zaida and Julio against the backdrop of Glencairn Garden in Rock Hill, South Carolina.

Zaida and Julio’s story is a testament to the power of connection and shared passion. Both being healthcare workers, they not only dedicated their lives to serving others but also found solace and love in each other’s company. I aimed to capture their never-ending laughs and obvious love for each other amongst the beautiful flowers of the gardens.

Beauty is everywhere along the gardens, even in the parking lot! I included one zoomed back image from our first stop so you can see that the butterfly bushes that made such amazing portraits, where actually just in the parking lot!

Walking hand in hand through the gardens, we were engulfed in a sea of colors as flowers of various hues bloomed all around us. Glencairn Garden is known for being stunningly beautiful pretty much year round! And even in the winter, when none of the gorgeous flowers are in bloom, there are so many other interesting plants and architecture that provide endless opportunities for some gorgeous photos!

Zaida and Julio got engaged in St. Augustine Florida in April. Since their engagement was a sweet, private moment that they shared, Julio and Zaida wanted a few photos of Julio recreating his proposal. I was more than happy to capture that for them! The gardens has so many gorgeous spots to chose from, so we decided to photograph a few! Julio dropped to one knee in the beautiful field as well as the rustic bridge.

Zaida and Julio were also more than happy to suffer a few petals in their hair to get one of my favorite shots ever, the falling flower shot! The crepe myrtle’s were in full, pink bloom and with a little shake, the magical petals fell!

We were also able to capture an absolutely breath-taking sunset sky towards the end of our session. It was cloudy for our session, so I was not expecting such an amazing sunset, but by, was I wrong! I still can’t believe that beautiful sky is real!

It was an honor to document Zaida and Julio’s love in their engagement session! Congratulations to one of the sweetest couples I’ve ever had the pleasure to work with!
